End of School

Our 2010-2011 school year is over. Brandon finished Elementary School and Collin is off to 2nd grade. WOW where has the time gone??

Brandon and Mrs. Mitchell...Brandon was able to finish and receive his Patriot Award. It took a lot of work and I am so proud of him for accomplishing that goal!!

He had to memorize all:

Presidents of the United States
Continents
The States and Locations
All State Capitals
The Gettysburg Address
The Declaration of Independence
The Symbols of the USA
The Symbols of the Flag
The Symbols of the State of Utah
The Star Spangle Banner
Preamble to the Constitution

Iron Springs Elementary has a Dance Festival on the last day of school. Each grade does a fun dance for everyone. This year the 5th Graders did the Napoleon Dynamite dance. Here is Brandon's, in his "Vote for Pedro" shirt, doing his best Napoleon Dynamite.

The First Graders do "The Chicken Dance" and have lots of Fun!!

Aiden did not want to leave the school after the Dance Festival...so he is pouting, surprise surprise huh!!

This picture was taken on the last day of school so it goes with this post. Aiden loves to talk to us with this face. And if you ask him a question with this look on your face he will answer you back like this ... what a character!!

Gray Boys Said WHAT??? 2011

06/05/11 This is more of a did, than said. Collin has been becoming more independent and likes to make himself a sandwich. He loves....ham, cheese, ketchup, mustard, and peanut butter. YUM?? And he eats the whole thing.

6/15/11 I was shopping with Aiden and he was standing up in the cart. I said, "Aiden, sit." Aiden said, "I not a puppy, I Aiden!"

Chad took my car to work, so I was taking the boys to school in my car. Collin asked where my car was and I said I don't know. He stuck his finger in the air and said, "We got a mystery on our hands."

For starters Aiden likes to say "No" and thats pretty much it. Collin has been saying "Shut up" so I guess we know our New Years Resolution for 2011.

Collin was saying prayers before school and I was helping him. We always say, "Please help me and Brandon to have a good day at school and listen to our teaches." Well Collin says, "I hate my teacher." Is it bad to have you kid say HATE in the prayer?

Today Collin turns 6 :( However, for some reason he is fixated on being 14. So whenever you ask him how old he is going to be he yells, "I fourteen!!" Once he was 13 and once 16, but for the majority he is 14.

When you have been sick and then get better Collin doesn't know how to express it. So he says, "Mom, I not sick anymore I happy!" He hurt his finger, so I wrapped it up. Then a few minutes later he says, "Mom my finger is happy, it not hurt anymore." I love how he explains things.

Aiden does a few sign, like more, all done, and juice. If I am doing something and he wants me to do something else, he will climb up on my lap and give me the sign for all done. Meaning, Mom YOU are all done, I want you.
The other day we were at my work and I was talking to my friend. I was holding him and in the middle of our conversation he just starts waving bye-bye. He was ready to go!!

Collin came upstairs and told us, (kind of mad) "Aiden ruined his mouth, nose, and shirt." He had got a hold of a ice cream sandwich and was messy. I just love how he explains things sometimes.

Collin got a bike for Christmas, but the one Santa brought didn't work. So Chad took him to get a different one. When they got home he was riding around and I told him I liked his bike. He said, "Thank you, I got it from Wal-mart."

We were driving over this bumpy road kind of fast and Collin yelled, "Were gonna die."

Collin didn't want to finish his dinner, so Brandon decided he wanted it. I told Collin to give his food to Brandon. As Brandon was coming over, Collin took a spoonful gave it to Brandon and said, "here you go."

Brandon was sick today. I thought that Collin would freak out if Brandon didn't go to school. So Brandon was already dressed for school and I had him ride with us to sit with Aiden. Conversation:
Collin: Brandon where's your backpack.
Me: Oh no, I guess I will have to go home and get it after I drop you off.
Collin: No, Brandon is sick today.
Guess I wasn't fooling him.

Collin didn't want to eat dinner, so I told him to make a sandwich. He didn't like that idea, but had to eat dinner before he got ice cream. So he went in and got some bread. Chad said, "you should put some peanut butter on it." Collin said, "that's a good idea Dad."

Collin was in the car with me, he threw his toy so I told him he could not have it. He put his hand on his head and said, "Give me break Mom."

Collin says the cutest prayer for meals, Heavenly Father, thank for day, healthy food, healthy strong, name Jesus Christ Amen. We have been saying prayers before the boys leave for school. So now for meals, usually dinner, he starts name all of us off and that we will have good day at school. It sweet, and he usually forgets to bless the food. I try!!

Collin has this vial he has to keep on his body for 24 hours. He hates stuff like that stuck to his body, so we have to tell him it will make him better. He keeps asking "what is this". This morning he asked me, "what this?', then answers his own question, "make me feel better, so I won't die."

On our way home from watching Transformers, Brandon said, "Look at that sunset, Grandma May would love that." It was so sweet for him to think of her liking that.

Brandon went golfing with Chad and when he got home he told me, "Mom I kind of feel like a professional golfer, because like I have these nice clothes on."

On our way to our car in the parking garage of our hotel, Brandon was pushing Aiden in the stroller and Collin was walking beside them. An older couple came up and we just talking to the boys in passing. Collin introduced Aiden, then said "So long suter (sucker)." It was funny and embarrassing!!

Collin went in to Aiden's room and woke him up. When I asked Collin if he woke Aiden up he said, "No the sunshine did."

Aiden got a second tooth, right next to the first one. Of course, he got it at my Mom's house.

We went to Overton this weekend. And Chad went to Vegas, on Sunday we met him at the turnoff to go home. Collin loves this little scrapbook my Mom made and kept telling my Mom he was going to take it. He snuck it in his backpack and we were just going to sneak it out, but forgot. We were in the car all ready to go and Collin was free and clear to take the book and he said, "thanks for my book Grandma." So she got her book back, but half-way to Mesquite he pulls out some loose pictures he stole.

Aiden got his crib, finally, and slept through the night. He woke up at 6:30, then ate and went back to sleep until about 7:30. However, Daddy had to be up at 7:00.

Aiden started to give kisses. The first one was to my Mom, she would make a kissing noise and he would go in for the smooch. When I got home from Overton, I told Chad about it and he got Aiden to give kisses just by saying, "gimme kisses." When Chad got home from school on Tuesday, he picked up Aiden and Aiden gave him a kiss without asking. He gave me one this morning when I picked him up too, it is the sweetest thing in the world!!

All by himself, Brandon did an April Fool's joke on his teacher. She told them to get their Math books out and he said, "Mrs. Blackner, someone tore a page out the book." She was upset, then he said, "April Fools." I thought it was creative for him to come up with on his own.

Collin was being his usual annoying self to Brandon. I finally yelled at him to knock it off and he looked at me and said, "Mom calm down, say it with me." When he is being crazy I will tell him to calm down.

Today I told Collin to get out of the bathroom and he said, "I hate you Mommy," THEN blew me a kiss. I don't know if he was being a smart@## or he doesn't quite get the meaning of hate.

We decided to go get a drink. We just got Chad and I something. So the girl gave us our drinks, but there was another one sitting there for the person behind us. And Collin yells, "Hey you missed on." He thought that she forgot to give him his. Chad told him that we didn't get him one. He nugges Chad's shoulder and said, "you are a funny guy." So we got him a drink.

Aiden can now sit himself up from laying on his stomach. It is so cute, he sticks his butt up in the air and gets on his tippy-toes, then bends one leg and pushes himself up. My baby is growing up.

Collin knows how to get out of trouble. He got this guitar down from the top shelf of the closet and came in to show me it. When I saw it I said, "Collin," and gave him the look. He came up to me, gave me a hug and said, "love you Mommy, with all my heart." He knows how to work it.

Collin loves cookies. He keeps sneaking them. Well I heard him run in the kitchen so I followed him in and he said (without looking at me) "SPANK MY BUTT" what a character!!

Aiden army crawled across our rug this morning to get a toy he wanted. When I tried to get it on camera, he just laid there and screamed because I took away his toy.

Brandon did something to make Collin mad the other day and I heard Collin say, "I tell your Mom." He will never say "my Mom." He also told Chad that the other day when he wouldn't let him do something.

When Collin wants my attention he just says, "Mommy" over and over again. Very normal I admit, the other day I finally just said stop saying "Mommy". Soooo, he starts saying, "Lissa, Lissa, Lissa." Guess I need to be more specific.

Lately we have been going Dairy Queen. Well tonight for Valentine's Day we decided to get some ice cream. As pulled up to the window Collin says,"Were back."

At church walking around Aiden starting yelling, "Da, Da, Da" it was sad and exciting. I tried to get a "mama" out, but got another "dada." Now he seems to only say it when Chad is home and he seems to be yelling at him when he says it.

I was laying down and "resting my eyes", while Collin played and Aiden watched Baby Einsteins. (Blame Aiden he was up all night.) But Aiden started yelling at the TV and Collin said, "Shh, Aiden, you whisper!!"

Brandon was doing his homework and he gets to worried about playing with friends he has a hard time concentrating. I was holding Aiden and he kind of started to cry. But Aiden started laughing at him, so he started laughing.

We stopped by Toys R Us on our way home from Salt Lake. Collin found a Scooby Set with all the characters, he got one last Christmas but he played with them so much they are broke. He carried tucked under his arm all around the store. We didn't buy it, then Chad decided to go back and buy it for his Mom to give Collin. Somehow he knew, and when we got home he snuck out and got it. He knows its in our closet and get so mad that we won't let him have it. We even tell him we gave it away, but he is not buying it!!

On Monday it went to see Twilight (Loved it by the way) and today Brandon said, "Mom did you go to Twilight?" I told him "yes". He said, "Oh I forgot to ask you, how did you like it?" It was so sweet.

We decorated the house for Christmas. And the boys got the song "Days of week (sung to the Adams Family Song)" in their head. I kept telling them to sing a Christmas song. So they would start a chorus of Jingle Bells, but then a few minutes later we were back to "Days of the Week."

Collin calls Brandon "Brother," so we were asking him what are his brothers names. He said, "Baby Aiden Gray and Brother Gray."

I was asking Brandon to get the diapers and wipes for Aiden, then asked him to throw the diaper away. He said..."Stop bossing me around."

Chad and I went to California for our 10 year anniversary. My Mom, Michelle, and Juliann watched our boys (it takes three). Brandon asked Michelle if him and Kaedan (Michelle's son) could sleep in the living room. She said yes, then she realized she has to take Aiden out in the living room to feed him, so later she told them no. Brandon got upset and said, "You are a liar!!" Then later he told my Mom, "My Mom (me) said that YOU were in charge of me Grandma."

We always tease our boys about the cops getting them. The other day Brandon and Collin were fighting, Collin came in to tell on his "Brother". He told us Brother needs to go to jail. Then he shouted, "Cop, cop come get my brother."

Collin is such a smart @#%. Today I told him to get on the couch and he said, "Aye, Aye Captain!" All you can do is laugh. And yesterday he was bugging Brandon and was asked to get away he yells, "NEBER," yes I can spell it is "never." Or his famous saying when he is told to get over here, "You'll neber catch me now!!" What a punk!!

Collin has started to be very polite. We ask him if he wants some crackers and he says, "No, thatu (thank you)." However, he uses it in odd ways; such as asking him to clean the playroom, finish his dinner, or go to bed. At least he is polite when he tells us no!!

Brandon loves video games. We have actually had to not let him play them during the week, because he can't concentrate on his homework. They is a commerical on that encourages kids to "get up and play an hour a day" and when Brandon saw it he told me, "I am not playing for an hour a day, that is too long!"
